This committee will work to provide an inventory of the various farms and agricultural activities that presently exist in Cape Elizabeth. They will gather data on acreage, products, services, economic benefits and other activities farms provide the town. In addition, this team will gain an understanding of existing markets, easements, public access, educational programs and other areas related to the farms.
This committee is charged with reviewing and recommending changes to existing agricultural definitions & ordinance language as used in the town ordinance. In addition, the committee will review and recommend property tax programs currently available to landowners.
This committee is charged with identifying and implementing actions that will educate community members about what they can do to ensure the sustainability of Cape farms and agriculture.
This committee is charged with ensuring that agricultural landowners are aware of programs and services that will assist them in preserving their land in a way that works for them.
