Probably the best and healthiest way to enjoy fresh strawberries is
simply to eat them at room temperature soon after gathering.  The
strawberry plant is a member of the rose family and is common
throughout North America and Europe, where it was first cultivated in
the thirteenth century.  These delectable berries are highly nutritious,
rich in vitamins A and C and in the minerals iron, magnesium,
potassium, sulfur and calcium, which explains why they were valued
historically as much as medicine as food.

STRAWBERRY SORBET

(A simple to make, healthy, fat-free dessert)
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup frozen lemonade concentrate
1 cup sugar
3 cups fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
Put all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth.
Freeze in a covered bowl.
To serve, scrape with a spoon into dessert dishes.
Or freeze in ice cube trays.
To serve, put cubes into blender and mix again.
Pour into dessert dishes.
